Pappa Jack Kopitiam Palembang

Hello guys!

After about 2 months not blogging, now I'm back to welcome another franchised kopitiam in town, Pappa Jack.

Pappa Jack has such a variety of food in their menu, from Asian to Western, from snack to main course. Screening through out the menu, finally we decided what to eat for our lunch.

Roti Naan wih Chicken Curry - Rp. 39,000

The naan bread was different from the usual naan bread which was similar to the canai bread. The Pappa Jack's naan has the similarity in texture with the normal bread, it was full of flavor though. The chicken curry was really delicious. The curry sauce had such a strong Indian flavor, but it was a perfect compliment to the naan bread. The chicken itself was tender and juicy.

Dry Curry Mee with Cumi - Rp. 43,000

I could say that this noodle was similar to the 'Mie Jawa' which was a bit sweet for my liking.

Chicken Rice - Rp. 46,000

From the first time seeing their menu, the chicken rice really caught my eyes. They also had the recommendation sign in the menu. The flavor of the rice was excellent, the chicken was also tender and succulent, though I preferred if the chicken to be more salty.

Chicken Porridge - Rp. 29,000

Fried Fish Cake - Rp. 28,000

However, the fish cake was a bit disappointing. It seemed that it was out of the freezer which made the fish cake watery and not smooth. The taste itself was so so.

Blackpepper Chicken Feet - Rp. 29,000

A bit sweet and spicy for the sauce of the chicken feet was perfect. Yum!

Overall, I had a good experience having my lunch here. Although the problem of having the lack of training staffs was still there. The waiter seemed confused when we ordered our food and really slow when taking the orders.

Well, they also provide the delivery service if you're lazy enough to get out since the haze problem in our town still on. Errrr! Hope the rain will come down really soon!

Les deserteurs

As busy as you are, I believe eating out once in a while is worth every pennyy!
It makes you feel good and refreshed with a new idea (especially if you are like me-working in a kitchen!) with the new seasonal fruit and vegetable.

Yesterday, I went out for a lunch at Les Deserteurs. It's this tiny bistro serving modern french cuisine in 11e. For lunch, they only have one set menu consist of entree, plat and dessert for €28 or you have the choise to add charcutteries, coffee or wines.

For me and my friend, we decided to just go with the regular menu accompanied by sparkling water.

Entree

Plat

Dessert

The highlight for me is the dessert!! OMG! It blows my mind, the taste is very goodd. Each component compliment each other very well. I like how they combine seasonal fruit like mirabelle and peche with a very interesting and unusual combination of herbs and flower. It definately the dessert that I love making and eating! Very elegant indeed! No wonder I heard so many people said that their dessert is out of this world!! So yumm. (Not to mention the perfect canelle glace on top and cigarette cercle around it!)

Sushi Tei Palembang

The wait is overrrr. Yihaaa! The most famous sushi place in the country, Sushi Tei finally spread their outlet in our lovely town, Palembang.

Oh well, I think I don't need to introduce anything about Sushi Tei. When anyone heard Sushi Tei, we immediately will think that it was the best sushi restaurant! It was originally from Singapore and firstly introduced in Indonesia in 2003. And, it was a Grand Opening in Palembang just last week and it was explosive! Basically, we had to wait for an hour to eat here, or it was about 15 table at the waiting lists I think.

Without any doubt, we opted to sit at the sushi bar since we did not intend to order anything from the menu. Beside, it was much faster and convenient to choose the sushi from the conveyor belt. So, here we go, the sushi for two of us!

Choco Motive - Rp. 55,000

Silver - Rp. 32,000

Yellow - Rp. 22,000

Black Caviar - Rp. 22,000

Red - Rp. 42,000

Pink - Rp. 28,000

Salmon Belly - Rp. 22,000

Inari Tuna - Rp. 22,000

Black - Rp. 38,000

Tamago - Rp. 14,000

Pink - Rp. 28,000

Kani Mayo - Rp. 18,000

I visited Sushi Tei in Singapore and Jakarta before, and Sushi Tei had never failed to impress me with their sushi. Indeed, the price was higher than the others. But, you got what you pay! The quality of the food was really up to standard and worth the price. Hell yeah, we spent more than Rp. 400,000 just for two of us, but I can say that it was absolutely well spent.

Well, my dad finally decided to have a breakfasting event together with his staffs. Having some options available, we chose the one that is the nearest from the office, Rio City Hotel. Since, we are about hundreds of people, we chose the private room at the second floor.

Rio City Hotel had a breakfasting buffet dinner for Rp. 75,000 nett/person. It was pretty good deal since there were about 15 kind of food choices available and the taste was quite delicious also.

Mam Mee Bakery & Kopihaus

Yesterday, me and my friends went to visit Mam Mee Bakery & Kopihaus to celebrate my friend's birthday. Mam Mee Bakery has so many outlets throughout this city and this time they open their first coffee shop which was located at the Zuri Express Complex.

The menu was quite simple, just like normal kopitiam's food.

Gado - Gado - Rp. 19,000

Fried Rice

Fried Noodle

Mixed Lontong

Oxtail Soup - Rp. 40,000

Fried Calamari

Pempek - Rp. 5,000

After tasting every menu that we ordered, we made the conclusion that the taste was delicious. The gado-gado was yummy and the peanut sauce had a good consistency. The smell of fried rice and the fried noodle made our mouth-watering. The lontong campur was OK, but we preferred if they add more kind of toppings to it. The oxtail soup was simply appetizing. The broth was perfectly seasoned and the oxtail was really tender without too much fat on it. We even ordered three bowls of this.

Furthermore, surprisingly, the price was really affordable. The food was priced around Rp. 20,000 - Rp. 40,000 per portion.

The ambience of the cafe was clean and comfortable. They had pretty good design also with some wooden tables and chairs, some standard one and some designed chairs. The service was good either. The staffs were friendly. And, we did not wait for a long time for our food.

Well, here is our homemade pie for our birthday friend! xoxo!
