Outback Steakhouse

Another day means another dinner, yay!

Living alone as part student and intern, I could not easily go out for dinner everyday. Besides the cost to dine and travel themselves, It's so hard to wander around Jakarta without a car! Moreover, if you are a foodie, you know that not so many people are as foodie as you that willing to spent a lot in eating. Sighh...

Yesterday was a special day though, as my parents came to town, yet again, to make another visa for their Europe trip later on this month. Yay!

They got a complimentary room at Manhattan Hotel which make me so happyy because of their strategic location around the Kuningan area.

At first, I wanted to try Trattoria Cucina Italiana in The East Building but unfortunately my parent's flight got delayed and just arrived at the hotel at about 8.00PM. Although it’s not too late at night but it was considered very late for dinner, isn't it? So instead, we went to the Kuningan City next door and ate at Outback Steakhouse.

The Steakhouse was expectedly not very crowded. There were some people sitting in the smoking area, bar, and quite a few at non-smoking area. Most of them were working adults who probably live nearby or too lazy to go back home during peak hours. There are a few tables that were occupied by one person alone as well (So if you want to try this alone, just don't hesitate! (: )

The menu has a lot of variety from chicken, fish, and beef. I ordered Outback Special that is described as their signature sirloin on their menu. The steak was awesome, it came with 2 choices of (limited) side dishes of our choice.

My dad ordered the Prime Rib, which was recommended by the waitress as the most popular dish. We ordered the 8 oz steak but you can choose to order the bigger portion with additional charge of 40.000 for every 2 oz. Although the appearance was not that appealing, but I would say the steak was better than mine! It was so juicy and tender! Meltttt....

My mom is not really a meat lover. She ordered Grilled Salmon that is served with fresh veggies and rice pilaff. Here, you cannot choose the side dishes as it came as a set. The fish was a little dry and I was quite surprise looking at the tail side of the Salmon instead of the normal fillet that we got in other restaurant! Aren't they supposed to use that?

For drinks, I ordered the recommended Peach Mojito. It's a non-alcoholic drinks with a refreshing combination of peaches, lime, and fresh mind. It was as is name said, It's so refreshing and yumm.

Everything was great and it's worth the price. Although you can eat steak with lower price in other places, but I would say you got what you paid for is definitely true here. The meat and cooking technique was definitely better.
