Welcoming the new Japanese restaurant in town, Ichiban Sushi which was located at Palembang Icon Mall. It was opened last week, but I was not in the mood of the crowded place where we had to queue or something like that. Hence, I just went here today for lunch. They were currently having promotion buy 1 get 1 free for the selected sushi rolls and ramen. So, without having second thought, we tried that selected menu. Well, we should take the promotion opportunity, right? Haha!

Beef Volcano Roll - Rp. 37,000
The beef volcano roll was shreded beef rolled inside the sushi rice, then they topped it up with floss and mayo. Unfortunately, the rice they used for sure was not the Japanese sushi rice, it was mushy and sticky. Thanks to the floss which made it tastes better.

Chicken Katsu Roll - Rp. 22,000
This one was basically just fried katsu chicken rolled with nori and rice. I was not recommend this one, beside the mushy rice, the mayo was not good either, and the chicken inside was a bit dry in my opinion.

Spicy Ramen - Rp. 37,000

For the ramen, we could choose the level of the spiciness from 1 to 7. We went for the most spicy level, but it was not spicy at all, they just used so much chili powder on the broth which ruined the whole flavor. The spicy ramen consists of some vegetables, nori and a bit of thin sliced beef.

Beef Teriyaki Ramen - Rp. 36,000

Though their favorite ramen was the spicy ramen, I preferred the beef teriyaki one. The topping was quite generous and the beef was well-cooked. However, as you can see, the egg was over boiled. I was not a fan of Ichiban Sushi's ramen broth which I think was just so so.

Ocha - Rp. 8,000 Refill

In my opinion, the taste of the food was just so so, a bit overrated in my opinion. But with such a price, we could not really complain much about the quality of the food. Oh well, where could we get such a price at the such decent Japanese restaurant? I could say that Ichiban Sushi was the most affordable Japanese restaurant in town. You could get the ramen or the sushi roll for only about Rp. 20,000++. OMG!

Unfortunately, the service and the readiness of the restaurant itself was a question. I was planned to order a few menu which was not in their promotion menu, but the staff kept telling us that it was sold out. Seriously? I came there for lunch when they were just opened their restaurant to serve, but they had already been sold out?

All right, as I said, they were having promotion 'buy 1 get 1 free' will 7th June, so what are you waiting for? Why shouldn't we try the new eating place in town, huh?
