After we ordered our lunch, we got complimentary fruit soup. To me, it was really sweet. I cannot stand the sweetness so I just eat the fruit and the nata de coco inside.

As usual, most of Palembang's restaurants will serve us pempek as appetizers, you can choose to eat or not to eat them. However, most of the time, we will eat it no matter they are tasty or not. But, this one was really yummy. It was soft and not fishy.
Pempek - Rp. 3.500 |
In my opinion, the soup of the mie celor was too thick so it was really difficult to mix the noodle and the soup itself.
Mie Celor - Rp. 20.000 |
Oh nooo! The chef didn't forget to put salt in the fish model, right? It was not salty at all, I have to add much more soysauce to it.
Fish Model - Rp. 15.000 |
I would not recommend the chicken noodle at all. The noodle was overcooked and really mushy. Moreover, the chicken was not really well-seasoned.
Chicken Noodle - Rp. 19.000 |
The nasi lemak is good, appetizing and quite aromatic too.
Nasi Lemak - Rp. 20.000 |
It was just normal plain porridge, no spices was added. For me, the topping were too little for such a big portion of th porridge.
Porridge with Pitan - Rp. 20.000 |
Lastly, steamed egg. We have to wait for half an hour for the freaking steamed egg. And, the result? Not recommended at all. It was not silky and smooth at all. Additionally, for such a pricey thing, we got so small thin plate of egg. Disappointed.
Steamed Egg - Rp. 15.000 |
The way I see it, Kedai Kopi Kapitan is suitable for the students with prefer more food with cheaper price. Since, the price of the main course food is not expensive, it is around Rp. 15.000 - Rp. 30.000. To add on, the location of the Kedai Kopi Kapitan itself is across the Xaverius 1 a.k.a Bangau High School. Many times, I can see many students have their lunch here.
