Why not trying the Peranakan food which is similar to the Indonesian?
Yes, here we are at the Peranakan food restaurant, Kedai Tiga Nyonya. Beside in Palembang, Kedai Tiga Nyonya also has their restaurants in Jakarta and Bogor.

Gado-gado - Rp. 40,000

The portion of the gado-gado was large. It was good for two people sharing I think. The taste itself was so so, I just did not like the bitter taste in the peanut sauce which was from the spices they used which in my opinion did not really well-blended.

Grilled 3 Nyonya Chicken - Rp. 47,500

I loooove their grilled chicken. The spices of the peranakan flavor was really infused perfectly to the chicken. Moreover, the chicken meat itself was tender and well-cooked.

Asam-asam Ribs - Rp. 77,500

The asam-asam ribs was similar to the Indonesian pindang but a bit more sour. It was good, full of flavor, the portion of the beef was big, really worth the price. One that I did not really like was the oil, the soup was a bit oily so we could not really enjoy the beef soup itself without any rice.

Beansprout - Rp. 30,000

Grilled Fish - Rp. 35,000/ons

They used giant trevally fish a.k.a ikan kuwe for their signature grilled fish. Actually, I did not really like the texture of this fish which was a bit dense and not soft. But the seasoning made it more delicious and mouth watering. They also served chili with soy sauce and sambal matah for the companion.

Sirsak Kelapa - Rp. 35,000

The sirsak kelapa ice was their recommended drink. It was sweet and refreshing, especially in this hot city!

The ambience of Kedai Tiga Nyonya restaurant was comfortable and homey. The staffs was also friendly. But for me, the price was a bit expensive.
