What can I say, Tian Tian HK Roast House is the first non halal Chinese restaurant, beside bakmie shop, in Palembang, and I'm so excited about it. Spreading through the social media, I knew that this restaurant started their operation earlier this week.

Tian Tian HK Roast House basically serves Hong Kong (HK) cuisine, such as HK toast, roast chicken and roast pork. Unfortunately, they do not sell roast duck like the other HK restaurant.

For my lunch, I ordered the roast pork hainan rice. Where my brother ordered the wonton noodle. And, my mom ordered bakuteh. I also ordered claypot tofu to be shared, but I forgot to take the photo of the tofu since I was busy eating my lunch -_-

Roast Pork Hainan Rice - Rp. 33,000

The hainan rice was quite delicious. It has good flavour and taste, the sauce of the pork was also well balance. For me, the roast pork was yummy and tender enough, but the portion was a bit too little compared to the rice and the skin of the pork was not crispy enough.

BBQ & Roast Pork Combination Wonton Noodle - Rp . 35,000

Altough it was name as wonton noodle, strangely they did not serve the wonton. So actually, it was just the noodle with the bbq and the roast pork. The charsiew pork was a bit too dry, same as the noodle. Maybe, they did not give enough pork fat when mixing the noodle.

Bakuteh - Rp. 27,000

The bakuteh was a big no no for me. It had no taste, not enough salt and pepper, the herbs flavour were not strong enough either. Moreover, it seems like the pork was cooked separately from the herbal soup since it had no taste at all.

In conclusion, the food was quite tasty and worth the price. The place itself was clean and bright. They also provided free Wi-Fi and smoking zone outside the room. However, the service was a bit slow, we had to wait about half an hour for the bakuteh and we had to call the waiters repeatly to get our order.

  1. the roasted pork selection was good enought for my licking, and it's pretty cheap
the bak kut teh kinda pissed me off too, the most silly part is the parsley leaves topping which is the only one i've known bak kut teh without any cilantro leaves

    1. Yes indeed, the charsiew and the roast pork was good enough. I won't order the bakuteh for the second time, really. HAHA :)
